Pukala Research Group
Research in the Pukala laboratories is focused on developing analytical and bioorganic chemistry approaches, primarily utilising mass spectrometry, to provide new insight into the structure, function and interactions of macromolecules important in biology.
Mass spectrometry for structural biology
We develop and utilise a range of mass spectrometry based approaches, including proteomics, native and ion mobility-mass spectrometry, to investigate biomacromolecules at all levels of structure.

Bioconjugation chemistry
We have a focus on implementing novel chemical bioconjugation strategies to
enhance detection and structural characterisation of biomacromolecules by mass spectrometry.

Biological applications
Our goal is to apply the innovative biophysical and bioorganic chemistry approaches developed in the Pukala laboratories to address interesting
biological problems.
